UNITED STATED
Who could forget the awesomeness that was Lady Gaga and Elton John on the epic "Poker Face"/"Speechless"/"Your Song" medley during the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards earlier this year? Anyone else who watched it 500 times like I did should be happy about this -- after much talk from both parties about teaming up again, Lady Gaga and Elton John have finally done it!
No they didn't make a baby! Sir Elton revealed yesterday that he and Lady Gaga have recorded a duet titled "Hello, Hello" to be featured in the upcoming animated Disney movie "Gnomeo and Juliet," produced by Elton and his partner David Furnish. Set for release on February 11, 2011, "Gnomeo and Juliet" is about (what else) two gnomes, featuring James McAvoy as Gnomeo and Emily Blunt as Juliet. Elton, who's no stranger to Disney movie soundtracks, co-wrote "Hello, Hello" with composer James Newton Howard and it will play during the film when the two gnomes meet for the first time.
So, wait -- flamboyant jacket-wearing songwriting legend Elton John collaborated on a song with no pants-wearing pop icon Lady Gaga, and it will be featured in an animated movie about a pair of lawn ornaments that fall in love? Makes complete sense.
