Obama campaigning coast to coast ahead of election

UNITED STATED

President Barack Obama's campaign schedule through Election Day will take him from coast to coast over the next three weeks as he looks to buoy Democratic candidates.

The White House says the president will appear at both fundraisers and rallies where he'll seek to boost voter enthusiasm ahead of the Nov. 2 midterm elections. Stops in Delaware, Massachusetts and Ohio are scheduled for later this week. Obama will head west next week for stops in California, Oregon and Nevada.

Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs says Obama is likely to spend Election Day in Washington. The president has requested an absentee ballot to vote in his home state of Illinois.(AP)
